Educational a must buy and read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book is helpful and educational in so many ways! For those who didn't know TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language and IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. This book taught me that various English-language tests like TOEFL and IEFLTS give aspirants a chance to demonstrate their proficiency in the language. I also learned from reading this book that English-language skills are also part of the requirements of immigration and residences in many countries i was never aware of that. toefl and ielts made easy

English is the most widely used language in this world. Most countries especially in Asian territories demand the basic knowledge of the English language even though English would not be even used in their work place. Foreign students who fiercely compete to enter universities in the US also must score high in toefl exams to even be considered an entry position. Toelf is what I took to test my basic speaking, listening, and writing abilities through a multiple choice computer exam. This book covers the basics of taking such exams and actually passing with high scored even though your native language may not be English. In this day and age, with the technology of cell phones, perhaps studying a second language or a computer test such as the toefl is that much easier.

I want to take a TOEFL and IELTS examination this year, but I am really nervous. I know that my English skill is on the acceptable range, but I know that I still need to improve it to be able to compete in my field. I want to pass TOEFL and IELTS because I want to create my own ESL Company, and as someone who already have experience in teaching, this is really my dream. I gave five stars for this book since it offers practical tips on how to prepare for TOEFL and IELTS. It also explains the parts of the exam and the difference between the two.

This heavily edited version of Nanny Ogg's Cookbook made me wish for the days when I was in Ankh-Morpork with me mum and she'd ...
OK, so that's going a bit too far. Please forgive me.
The recipes are all in metric units but that's no real trouble for a resourceful American cook! I have tried several, they came out quite well! The honey mixture for the porridge is delicious. I also liked Rincewind's potato cakes. The gumbo recipe was amazing! Technically, I suppose that I have also had the Librarian's recipe but that is quite probably splitting hairs.
But odds are that you aren't buying this for the recipes. You're buying it for the wit and wisdom of Terry Pratchett. You get that in spades! The way Leonard of Quirm makes a cheese sandwich had me laughing out loud! The sections on etiquette were divine. My personal favorite was about Death but then again, I've always loved that character.
Check it out! You won't regret it!

A lightweight snack for Discworld fans

I've read all the Discworld novels -- so far, since that's a moving target when dealing with a prolific author like Terry Pratchett -- and have been jonesing for additional Lancre witches material. When I saw this book in my local bookstore, I felt compelled to pick it up.
The book is a compilation of recipes inspired by Discworld -- a wider variety than perhaps might be plausible, but bringing in the Ankh-Morpork city watch, wizards of Unseen University and other characters broadens this book's focus and appeal -- along with Nanny Ogg's advice on life and etiquette. The recipes are very British -- some of the ingredients are either unfamiliar to American audiences, or have names that will be unfamiliar -- but all look servicable enough.
The book shines in the sections later on, where Nanny expounds on life and love. While she keeps her infamously dirty mind relatively in check, the casual arrogance of the Lancre witches is good for quite a few laughs, with the not-so-subtle message that witches (and to a lesser extent, wizards) are above etiquette given that they can ruin the lives of anyone who would object. Not that they would, dearie. It's an amusing reminder that even the relatively benevolent Nanny is something of a terror to the mere mortals around her.
Ultimately, however, this is a small amount of new material for the price -- readers who thought "Eric" was a thin work will find this book to be positively anemic in comparison.
Recommended mostly for Pratchett fans who have read all his other works, and can't wait for his next novels to come out.

Strawberry Wobbler, anyone?

To all those Discworld fans out there, especially to the ones that love the witches, buy this book! If you've always wanted to serve Dwarf Bread to your guests (or beat them over the head with it) this is the book for you. I bought mine from the UK and the measurements are often in the metric system (I'm not sure about this one) but overall it's easy enough to understand.

Some of the stories will have you rolling... Carrot and Oyster pie comes to mind, which Mrs. Ogg helpfully annotates: "Carrots so's you can see in the dark and oysters so you have something to look at!"

Pick this one up for page after page of fun. The more knowledge of the Discworld you have (and its cusine), the more you will laugh.

About the Author
Mary Ellen Zator Estes is an RN, MSN, FNP-BC, NP-C Family Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine, in Fairfax, Virginia and Nursing Consultant, Vienna, Virginia. Mary Ellen Zator Estes obtained her baccalaureate and Master's degrees in nursing and her Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of Virginia. She has taught at the University of Virginia, Marymount University, Northern Virginia Community College, and The George Washington University Medical Center. She has also served as Clinical Faculty for Ball State University. With over 25 years' experience as a clinician and academician, Ms. Estes has taught health assessment and physical examination courses to nurses and nursing students from a variety of backgrounds. Her hands-on approach in the classroom, clinical laboratory, and health care setting has consistently led to positive learning experiences for her students. Ms. Estes' professional development is well demonstrated at the local, regional, and national levels. She has delivered numerous presentations through- out the country. She has been an active member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Nurses Association, and Virginia Nurses Association. Ms. Estes has been listed in Who's Who in American Nursing and Who's Who in American Education. She is currently a nurse practitioner at an internal medi-cine practice in Fairfax, Virginia, and a Nursing Consultant.

Costin put his knowledge on paper well.

A now aged book ( my copy is a 1968 edition ) which concludes with the Lotus 18 and 19 space frame cars of 1960 as its most up to date examples of design philosophy. These days most Formula Student cars use more sophisticated chassis than these now ancient examples. Despite this, the book has considerable merit, certainly Mike Costin knew what he was talking about and put his knowledge down on paper rather well. A friend succeeded in building a reasonable Formula Ford 1600 in the early 1970's on the basis of knowledge gained from this simple volume; I know, I painted the bare chassis and blue-printed the car's first engine.

The less violent side of an abusive relationship, and possible spoiler alert.

I'm basically going to review the series on this last one, final book, finishing review. I first read Her First Clit Ring a while ago, and wondered what was going to happen to the strange relationship that John and Jenny have. Jenny of course is a fairly likable character, until you read more. As she loses her self respect and her voice we lose respect for her. Enter Billy, John's good friend, who seems to dislike Jenny, not good enough for John, Billy supposedly says at some point. Not good enough why? She gives him everything he wants, all john has to do is whisper I love you lies in her ear and she capitulates. Maybe Billy feels the way I do, Jenny doesn't seem to respect herself, so why treat her as if she's human? She's a toy, a non-human, an unworthy waste of his friend's time and effort (so what if she has a clit ring?)
This is classified as erotic romance, but there's nothing ROMANTIC about it.
In book three, Desensitization, Billy suggests a bigger show, why share the glory of Jenny's clit ring with only one? So in a way to ease Jenny into the wholly exibitionist lifestyle, desensitize her. Put her on display while performing a crude sexual act on her person. Jenny seems to enjoy it until the end, probably both dehydrated and overwhelmed by her thoughts and circumstances she passes out.
Thin Final Party: is the last straw, the one that breaks the camel's back so to speak. Jenny wakes to the realization that maybe her relationship with John isn't all it's cracked up to be. He only tells her he loves her when he wants something, he wants to put on a party for friends to show off her clit ring, a little I love you lie and Jenny hops on board. Did she have no idea that it would end in a gang rape? Did she have no idea that that was John's intention? She says no, she wakes enough to say no, but I wonder, how would things have turned out between her and John had she said "no!" A little more and under the right circumstances? Would John have dumped her because she wouldn't easily bend to his will? Would Billy like her better? But then if she had, there would be no series. Maybe that's what the author should have done, but then I'd probably be wondering what would've happened if she'd said yes? I guess I'll never be satisfied. Which is probably why I tend to stick with romance, I know I'll get my happy for now ending at least.
