The next level in Change Management

Breakthrough, most holistic and effective approach for Complex Change Management and Transformation. Dean and his wife leaders (authors) are the most advanced change experts. 40 years experience and having a holistic view of change including process, culture, behavior and system. Any expert in Change Management should read this book and attend related trainings. I did and it changed radically my approach to leading transformation and the results with my clients have been mind-blowing. I wish i read this book 15 years earlier.

Business change doesn't have to be painful

Having moved into an IT consulting role, this book quickly became a much-referred to reference full of outside-the-box, yet common sense advice. An excellent resource full of sound process, logical procedure and practical knowledge. I've thought of this as my best-practice approach guide.

About the Author
Robert Zeuschner teaches Philosophy at Pasadena City College. He has taught in Departments of Philosophy at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Occidental College, and the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Southern California. He has also taught in the Department of Religion at the University of California at Riverside. He received his Ph.D. in Asian and Comparative Philosophy from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and taught philosophy courses at several Hawaiian institutions. He has published translations of Chinese Buddhist texts and numerous articles in philosophical journals. Dr. Zeuschner is the author of a descriptive bibliography of the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs and is assistant editor for the Burroughs Bulletin, the quarterly journal of the Edgar Rice Burroughs literary society. Short and Sweet Ethics text

For college students that do not have much time to read, this book offers the basics on the major ethical positions from around the world -- not just from the west! There are nice biographical pieces and the position summaries are broken up nicely. For a short introductory ethics course this or the Clark and Poortenga seem to be targeting our contemporary students well.

Easy Read and Highly Informative

As a college student, it could be quite daunting to take on certain philosophy texts. Some can be completely dry. Some could just drone on and on. But even to an individual with limited interest in ethics will find this book rather accesible. There are many moments in this book where the average student will say, "oh, I get it". So whether you are buying this book as a requirement or to fullfill you curiosity in ethics, this book is a great buy. Even though I purchased this book as a requirement, it will always have a nice little home on my bookshelf. Zeuschner rules all!

MADE RELIGION FASCINATING!!!

I had the privilege of taking a class by Dr Zeuschner years ago. His book was included in our text, naturally. This book was such an in-depth read and never once does it make you feel like he's being condescending when explaining complex issues in various religions. Dr Z wrote in a manner that made religions of the world feel much more accessible to perhaps a reader that is a non-believer. Great read. I still keep this book on my shelf and reference it from time to time.

An excellent complement to anyone's collection of Genesis P-Orridge/COUM Transmissions/Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV material OR anyone with a significant interest in mail art/postal networking. This volume is comprised of primary documents covering Gen's early mail art experiments in the COUM Transmissions / pre-Throbbing Gristle era, including letters to & from William S. Burroughs and correspondence sent to the 'grandfather of mail art', Ray Johnson. The quality of the reproductions inside the book are hard to read at times and appear to be copies of copies. If you're invested in the material, it won't matter to you at all. Best perused as an addendum to the fantastic Wreckers of Civilisation: The Story of Coum Transmissions & Throbbing Gristle unless you are already quite familiar with that era of Gen & co.'s career. Well worth the low price tag.

The divine plan had first entrusted the Jews with adherence to the letter of the Old Testament; then it had entrusted the Gentiles with the more spiritual New Testament. At the culmination of history, God would endow both Jews and Gentiles with a full understanding of both testaments. The word of God would return to the people from whence it came, and the Jews would be converted peacefully instead of damned.

The Exception to Medieval Anti-Judaism

Robert Lerner's new book is a gem of medieval studies scholarship. His elagantly written and laconic prose covers the evolution of Joachism (from Joachim de Fiore, the 12th century Italian millenarian abbot) through several major Christian thinkers. Lerner's ostensible aim here is to illuminate the rare exceptions to medieval Christian anti-Judaism. The Joachites often had startling prophecies concerning the Jews, Lerner tells us, that resulted in oppression for these thinkers. Many were executed and/or imprisoned for years: this was the price of philo-Judaism. Most interesting are his chapters on John of Rupescissa (or John of Roquetaillade) and Peter Olivi, and of course on Joachim himself. This is a must read for anybody interested in a more nuanced understanding of Christian conceptions of Jews in the middle ages.

Path Not Taken

Lerner's book is a presentation of a part of medieval millennial tradition - the lineage which originates from the powerful personage of Joachim of Fiore. Within this tradition the author traces views on the eschatological role of the Jewry in the future millennial era.
The framework of the whole book is to demonstrate that in the high Middle Ages existed a way of thinking being an alternative to so-called common Christian anti-Judaism. This "path not taken" would be a strain of thought opposed to the one which finally prevailed - the "culture of persecution" having led humanity to the nightmare of the Holocaust. To great disappointment of the present writer, the thesis so strongly emphasised at the very beginning of the book reappears only in the conclusion. The whole book focuses on nothing but the presentation of the historical evidence. Although it is admittedly very vivid and well-ordered evidence, the theme of the aforementioned "culture of persecution" is so weighty that it should be, in my view, considered more thoroughly. Perhaps it is a task for a reader to undertake...
What seems here noteworthy is that the author dealing with Joachite tradition as opposed to the "culture of persecution" does not mention the attempts made by several thinkers (esp. K. L�with, H. de Lubac) to associate Joachim and his heirs with the totalitarian movements of the twentieth century. Funnily enough, the author does not even refer to the widespread assumption that the very millenarianism itself is inevitably connected with totalitarianism.
To sum up, the book gathers the evidence in favour of the view that not all medieval thinkers thought of the Jews in terms of Christ-killers or obdurate unbelievers. Lerner presents several figures who contradict one of the common prejudices about the Middle Ages: the view that anti-Judaism in the later Middle Ages was so overwhelming that no-one could resist it. The author shows that there were also thinkers - it must be admitted with sorrow that they were predominantly non-orthodox - who accepted the positive eschatological role of the Jewry in the future millennium.
