Well organized, clearly written, full of details needed to rebuild your player piano

If you are thinking about rebuilding part or all of your player, you need this book. The book came highly recommended to me by John Tuttle of player-care.com. This book is well organized, providing an overview of the process before getting into the details. You will find yourself going back to discover details that you missed on your first or second reading. Organization within each chapter makes it easy to get back to a key detail - it works as a good reference text. I have waited until I got well into rebuilding my player piano before writing this review, to see how useful the book might be. Clearly I find the detail very helpful. Not every detail you will need to know is in the book. You will depend on others for help as well. But this is a very good place to start. And I find it is a great help at each step along the way.

Very detailed for an amateur.

I purchased this book to see if I could get my new player piano working. Apparently I broke it playing it too much when I first bought my piano at an auction.
After reading the first chapter, I realized that I will need a professional to work on my beautiful Reproducing Player Piano.
The book, although it is very detailed and meant for people in the piano repair and restoration business, it is written in a way that an interested, non-pro person like myself can read and understand. I found it fascinating.

This looks like an excellent book on this topic. I have only scanned it thus far, but the author obviously went to great lengths to include every bit of information one would need to service and/or rebuild a player piano.
